Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 21-2-417) requires Georgia residents to show photo identification when voting in person. For additional information, please click here or call 706.485.8683.

Independent and political body candidates have a second qualifying period opening Monday, June 27 at 9:00 am and closing Friday, July 1 at 12:00 noon. For information regarding qualifying please call the Board of Elections and Registration. 

Advance voting for the May 24, 2016 General Primary/Nonpartisan and Special Election will begin on Monday, May 2 at 8:00 am in the Board of Elections and Registration Office located on the main floor of the Putnam County Courthouse. Advance voting will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with the last day being Friday, May 20. Advance voting will be open Saturday, May 14 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the BER Office.

During the week of May 16-20, a satellite advance voting location will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Board of Commissioners' Meeting Room located in the Putnam County Administration Building. Voters are strongly encouraged to visit this location as it has much more room, more voting machines, and shorter wait times

Putnam County voters who wish to vote absentee by mail in the May Election can request a ballot by submitting an application for absentee ballot to the Board of Elections and Registration. Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning 45 days prior to the election date and ending on Friday, May 20, 2016. Ballots must be delivered to the BER by 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in order to be counted. 

If you have misplaced your precinct card or have not yet received one after registering, you can now access it and print it at home by visiting your My Voter Page on the Secretary of State's website.

Tuesday, April 26th is the voter registration cutoff for the May 24 General Primary and Nonpartisan Election. If you are not registered to vote but want to or you need to change the name or address of your voter registration, you can either visit the BER Office in the Courthouse, log-in to your My Voter Page, or complete an online registration application
